Today Card
A first-of-its-kind credit card that offers a high limit card with prime features backed by Mastercard, putting the customer in control to handle life’s unexpected expenses.
Role: Directed design and management of vendors and creative agency for launch. Led post-launch programs that increased engagement and promoted new features.
Improving a challenged brand
The Today Card required attention and guidance to establish a successful and unified experience. The project faced difficulties due to the absence of established standards, an incomplete design, and a third party developing the app and site. Given the pressing deadline for product launch, a comprehensive brand strategy was not feasible. Despite these obstacles, I successfully led my team with weekly stand-ups, facilitating follow-up meetings with engineers, vendors, and product managers, refining design systems and guidelines, and assisting the execution team in delivering an enhanced product.
Defined the voice and tone, content, and oversaw design for the project in all the launch touchpoints: website, direct mailer, card carrier, card plastic, launch emails, and the app.
The project made the launch date with a successful high conversion rate and the product team gained confidence in the design team and partnership.
Fixed all digital experiences to be ADA-compliant while keeping in the spirit of the Today Card brand.
Directed content and design for all launch emails, working closely with the product team to harmonize the functional needs and purpose of the emails with that of the customer’s needs.
